This Italian newspaper reported the opening ceremony at Empire Stadium. Empire Stadium originally functioned as a was a football pitch, which was first opened to the public on 28 April 1923. During the British Empire Exhibition, the Stadium was used for various kinds of events including the opening ceremony. The Stadium was renamed to Wembley Stadium after the Exhibition ended. Its demolition completed in 2003 for redevelopment.
