This illustrated map shows the exhibition site of the British Empire Exhibition and the railway connection from Wembley to other regions of London. It is drawn by map maker Stanley Kennedy North (1887-1942) in 1923. Information about the transport from London to the exhibition site is listed at the bottom left. It reads that Wembley is 186 miles away from London and accessible by direct trains from the train stations Baker Street and Marylebone. The quote at the bottom of the map was written and signed by Edward, the Prince of Wales (the patron of the Exhibition; ascended the throne as King Edward VIII in 1936). His quote shows that ambitious of the Exhibition in uniting the members of the British Empire: "We must unite to make The British Empire Exhibition a success worthy of our race - I shall hope to see many friends from the Dominions and Colonies at Wembley Park in 1924 - Edward P".
